A giant transparent candle is illuminated against the night sky. At the top an air filled flame flickers. As the soundtrack begins, the audience are drown to it and begin to see movement inside. An aerialist cocooned in silks emerges, and then suspended from them spirals ans gyrates. The effect is hypnotic and bewitching. The internal drapes fall away leaving an entirely transparent tower, a structure supported entirely by air and a performer suspended apparently on nothing. The music reaches its climax and in a swirl of flutterfettu, the aerialist rolls down the length of the silks and the lights dim.

This is an installation which gathers crowds around it, irresistibly drawn by the light and sound. The theme of the show is simple; Images of a moth-like creature drawn to the light only to become trapped and die, and at the moment of descruction a thousand new tiny moths are realeased into the night. A parable of life where we are attracted to a light which may not be good for us. The connection that the audience, like the moths, have been attracted to the light of the candle will not be lost.

Strapped to the steal circular base frame, the Candle structure at 8m tall is supported only by the pressure of air supplied by two blowers. New techniques in welding and PVC allow for increased strength and transparency. This creates a unique platform for aerial work using trapeze, silks, ropes and straps in an environment where the use of light and sound can create magic.
