Cirque Elemental
Untitled document A brilliant fusion of circus, theatre, opera, contemporary and classical dance combine to create an exciting and exhilarating show, which is suitable for audiences of all ages. The show length can run from one hour to one and half hours.
Watch in delight as an operatic fairy queen accompanies a child on an amazing journey to the different elemental worlds and is introduced to them by the antics of an endearing clown. In the Water World they encounter a giant Sea Queen puppet with her entourage of dancing acrobatic creatures and Mermaids and Mermen, who take to the air on seaweed ropes and trapezes.
Then the pulse of African drumming draws them into the Earth World where they are captivated by high energy dance and dynamic acrobatics.
The tempo slows and they discover the Air World with ethereal white birds dancing, contorting and cart wheeling on aerial silks.
Finally the child experiences the primordial power of fire and is mesmerised by fire dancing, acrobatics and Spanish Web.
Realising her own inherent power, the child brings the four elements together in a breath taking, high energy finale and as the fantasy world fades, the child re-emerges into her own world.
The show is set to an amazingly varied music score, ranging from Stravinskys Rite of Spring, Faure, Afro-Celt sound system, Lamb, African Heart Beat, Lorena McKennit and tracks from the Amelie film score. The music is creatively enhanced by the powerful and beautiful voice of a live soprano opera singer.
The show was first produced for the Qatar Government for their Festival of Eid Celebrations in February 2004 and it was described by Millennium Entertainment International as a unique and fascinating show, which delighted and uplifted the audience - without a doubt the highlight of the Eid Festival.
It was then booked as the highly acclaimed headline show in the Circus Big Top at the Glastonbury Festival where every night it received standing ovations.
